Refractory materials, as basic consumables in high-temperature industries, directly determine the service life and production safety of furnace equipment. Among them, shaped refractory materials (commonly known as refractory bricks) and unshaped refractory materials (castables, gunning mixes, etc.) are the two main categories. Shaped refractory materials are made through batching, stamping forming, and high-temperature roasting. They have high strength and regular dimensions, and are widely used in the main masonry of large thermal equipment such as blast furnaces and coke ovens. Unshaped refractory materials, on the other hand, are made by mixing powder aggregates with binders. They need to be mixed with liquids when used, have strong fluidity, and are suitable for special-shaped structures and emergency repair scenarios. The complementary application of the two has become an indispensable core material in industries such as steel, cement, and petrochemicals.
